Finally, we will get to see Sting’s second match in the WWE, as he revealed himself on WWE RAW this week. The Authority were planning on revealing a statue of Seth Rollins after he defeated John Cena for the US Championship at Summerslam, but instead, revealed (to their shock) a very living Sting underneath the sheet.
It was later announced that Sting will face off against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions.
Sting made his intentions clear by holding up the Heavyweight Championship belt, once he had removed Seth Rollins from the ring. Could we see a new champion in Sting? More importantly, are we going to see Sting involved in the WWE a bit more often now?
My theory was that there was going to be a John Cena rematch against Seth Rollins at Night of Champions. However, it seems that Sting will be taking the reigns from now on. Perhaps it is to set up a triple threat match between Sting, John Cena and Seth Rollins at Hell in a Cell or Survivor Series.
It will be interesting to see who will come out as the victor. If they cause Sting to lose AGAIN, then they’re completely wasting the opportunity of having him on the Roster. Then again, Vince McMahon has been known to bury ex WCW stars before.
However, is Sting going to be a full time WWE Superstar if he wins the heavyweight title? Or are we going to have another Brock Lesnar on our hands?
Perhaps what could happen is Sting will win the WWE Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions and then he will lose it to John Cena at the following Pay Per View in a Triple Threat match, so that John Cena will officially tie Ric Flair’s record of 16 World Championships.
What do you think will happen at Night of Champions? Do you think Sting will win? Or maybe there will be another interruption, causing Seth Rollins to sneak out the victor, once again.
