On Monday night RAW this week it was Brock Lesnar’s homecoming to Minneapolis, Minnesota. So, the crowd were bound to be hot on Lesnar when he came down to the ring. However, something very surprising happened…
The usual instance of Brock being hyped up by Paul Heyman occurred, with a strange song that Paul Heyman appeared to make up on the spot about how great Lesnar was, and referring to him as the conqueror (standard procedure really).
However, then the signature Undertaker ‘gongs’ sounded, and the lights went off. The lights came back on again, and The Undertaker was standing in the ring with Brock Lesnar (with Paul Heyman conveniently outside the ring).
The Undertaker hits Brock Lesnar with a low blow, which was received with a deafening blow of booing from the crowd.
I don’t think I have ever watched a PPV or episode of WWE RAW or Smackdown, where The Undertaker has been booed like that.
Obviously the people in the crowd are going to be Brock Lesnar fans. He is their home town boy. But, this is The Undertaker, The Phenom, The Dead Man! You don’t boo The Undertaker! That’s pretty much unheard of since the early 90s, when The Undertaker was a legitimate heel. As opposed to the kind of heel that you know is a bad guy, but realistically, you love seeing them. Similar to Brock Lesnar in a way.
There was a mixture of cheers and booing. However, the booing was very very clear.
After watching the video on The WWE YouTube channel, it has been claimed by people who were at the event that the cheering has been dubbed in to make the boos less pronounced. Claims are that the boos were so loud you could barely hear The Undertakers “gongs” as they sounded.

Brock Lesnar Faces The Undertaker at Summerslam this Sunday
I am really getting excited for this match on Sunday at Summerslam. Mostly because I genuinely don’t know what they’re going to do storyline wise. The majority of the time lately, the WWE creative has been very predictable, and I’ve been able to roughly guess what is going to happen.
My prediction: an interruption which will set up Sting to feud with The Undertaker, which will lead to Wrestlemania.
However, I’ve read online that while Sting was originally booked to make an appearance at Summerslam, that has since been cancelled. However, stranger things have happened, and if there’s anything we know about Vince McMahon, is that he likes to make very last minute changes and decisions.
Rumour has it that the Brock Lesnar ending the streak by defeating The Undertaker at Wrestlemania was only decided about an hour before the match kicked off.
What do you think about the crowd booing The Undertaker in Minneapolis? Do you think it was just because it was Brock Lesnar’s home town. Or do you think The Undertaker has lost his edge? Leave your thoughts in the comment section below, and we will join in on the debate with our thoughts.
