There is no doubt that Finn Balor has been one of the major pillars of NXT the past year. He’s been a force to be reckoned with, and an enticing figure which the WWE has really needed in their roster. All that is left is to see if the WWE creative don’t f*** it up when he eventually makes it onto RAW.
However, something you may not know is that back when Finn Balor was a part of New Japan Wrestling, he was approached by TNA Wrestling to come over to America to join their roster. Admittedly, Finn (Prince Devitt at the time) was also approached by WWE previously, however, Finn Balor decided that he wasn’t ready to come over to the states to continue his wrestling career. This was prior to his meteoric rise in Japanese Wrestling.
Finn Balor/Prince Devitt is now considered to be one of the biggest draws and biggest stars of the Japenese wrestling world.
Anyway, that brings us forward in time to today. Where Finn is happily working on NXT (WWE’s “developmental” show). NXT is in the south currently, and specifically, will be hosting shows in Tennessee. Tonight, NXT is in Nashville at the War Memorial Auditorium.
Something which is a little interesting is the fact that the TNA headquarters are in Nashville, and Finn Balor decided to take a visit to the location…

Balor can be seen doing the Degeneration-X crotch chop, which is normally associated with the words “suck it!”. It seems that we now know exactly what Finn thinks about TNA Wrestling!
Admittedly, Balor is likely using this controversial image just to promote #NXTNashville which is happening tonight. But, it’s always a good bit of marketing to add some controversy to the situation.
NXT are doing some touring around at the moment instead of staying at Full Sail University in Orlando. However, it’s looking like 2016 is going to be a big year for NXT. Triple H never shys away from the fact that he wants NXT to be a brand on it’s own, and not just known as the developmental show for RAW or Smackdown. There is talk of NXT doing touring shows regularly all over the world, just like how RAW is at a different location every week.
However, there are benefits to NXT staying at the university. For a start, they’re guaranteed a hot crowd by the students there. In addition to that, they get cheap labour for setting up the shows because they hire enthusiastic students from the University.
Only time will tell with how NXT will grow into the future. I for one am looking forward to what Triple H does with “WWE’s Developmental Show” into the future.
